Fiberpunk was introduced to Julia Wicker in the book. He stays quiet most of the time, not interfering in the action but drawing a lot. The only time Julia successfully speaks with him, he confesses to her that his drawings are two-dimensional representations of three-dimensional shadows of four-dimensional objects, but Julia's not quite sure if he's able to really do them or if he is just a fraud.
When the summoning works incorrectly, and Reynard the Fox appears, Fiberpunk tries to unseal the door the god had shut down but fails due to the deity's magic being much more evolved than his. Reynard kills him by sending him into the air, and letting him crash is head, like a watermelon, on a stone table. Julia observes that the immense secrets of metamagic were now gone forever.[1]
