The Fountains are portals in the Neitherlands that connect to other worlds within the Multiverse.

With the help of Travelers, the Order of the Library of the Neitherlands was able to collect and catalog information from throughout the Multiverse for use by Magicians, presumably by utilizing the fountains to visit and analyze the worlds.[1]

The Neitherlanders were cursed by the Librarians from using the fountains after they were banned from the Library of the Neitherlands following strained labor relations.[2]

When Penny Adiyodi became stranded on the Neitherlands, Quentin Coldwater and Alice Quinn performed a ritual that created a beacon to the Earth Fountain for Penny to escape from the Neitherlanders who were trying to kill him.[2]
