Season 1 of The Magicians consists of 13 episodes. The first episode aired as an advance commercial free preview on December 16, 2015 ahead of its double episode premiere on January 25, 2016. Sera Gamble and John McNamara were the executive producers and show runners.

TriviaEdit

  • The first season is based on books written by Lev Grossman. Quentin's story is based on the first book in the series, The Magicians, and Julia's story is based on part of the second book, The Magician King.
  • The set used for Dean Fogg's office after Season 1 is a recreation of the set used for Season 1, which was an in an actual house.
